We were honoured to host The Royal Engineers for a formal dining in night at Ad Astra last night.
The soldiers from 101 Engineer Regiment Explosive Ordinance Disposal and Search unit have been out on a training exercise in the Mendips. To bring the training to a close, they asked Ad Astra to host the formal occasion.
We provided an Orchard and Cider Making Tour, cider tasting with local cheese followed by a three-course meal that Suzanne managed to whip up for the 50+ hungry Sappers.
It was a wonderful occasion and a great education on how the Army conduct a dining in night. Much the same as the RAF but with a lot more port it seemed 😊
It was a wonderful evening and hopefully we will be able to do it again when they are next in the area.
